About
Why Choose Us
Design
We believe great design is important in a normal house, but even more so in a Tiny house. Our Tiny houses are strongly influenced by traditional Scandinavian design. We don’t want to just build a square box and that’s why we have an in-house designer to consult with, helping to create incredible and unique spaces for each client.
We believe natural light is important, our signature floor to ceiling windows gives a sense of space and enhances the connection between the interior and exterior. As Harm our dutch designer says of the Viewfinder; "we built a picture frame and then added a Tiny house in behind it”. For us, the most important step is finding out exactly what the client wants, then our designer comes up with a concept drawing of what the finished Tiny house will look like.
Attention To Detail
Our Tiny Houses are crafted, not just built. When you combine that craftsmanship with high quality materials and an excellent design - you’ve got yourself a Tiny Home with Big personality.
Where we can, we use New Zealand materials including sustainably sourced timber (Beech and Pine) and NZ Colour steel. We stand behind our product, that’s why we offer an industry leading 10 year warranty. We want your home to be welcoming, warm, well built and stand the test of time.
Quality Materials
If you want a Tiny house to last, you need to use quality materials. While the fit-out is up to the client, we do have a minimum standard for anything that goes in our Tiny houses.
Tapware is Englefield which comes with a 10 year warranty.
Flooring is either Karndean vinyl planks which have a 35 year warranty, or Paradoor German made laminate flooring that has a 10 year warranty.
Custom locally made kitchens (not flat pack from a big box retailer) that use Blum soft close drawers.
Bathroom fit out is with quality tap ware and fittings, all with at least a 10 year warranty.
Our Team
Director - Stefan Bennett
After many years working in a corporate environment, Stefan traded his suit for a hard hat to bring his tiny house dreams to life. He has always had an affinity for small spaces, working previously on constructing boats.
As the director of the company, Stefan wears many hats, but what he loves doing most is building in the workshop.
Designer - Harm Zudimeer
As a spatial architect, Harm has a unique understanding of what is required to design a tiny house. Harm’s tiny house designs focus on being both, aesthetically-pleasing and functional, to make the most of every inch of space.
Harm is the director of his own design company, Studio Zedd. See Harm’s concepts here
Jake Levaillant - Builder
Great guy who brings a wealth of experience and knowledge in mechanics and building.
Also very good at doing wheelies
Edoardo Bruni - Builder and CAD Designer
A man of many talents, Edoardo used to be a wood fired pizza chef (that’s not why we hired him - honestly). He also built and designed Tiny Houses in Italy.
Mike Cole - Builder
Handyman Mike has recently joined the team and spends most of his time building walls.
Coming from Wellington working in the middle of winter in a T-Shirt is no problem.
Alex Ciuccariello - Builder
Alex is our 2nd Italian on the team. Mr ‘do everythring man’ with great attention to detail.
Great worker but hopeless at football ( no surprises there )
MacKenzie Sharp - Builder
Builder and DJ at the workshop. Keeps the place humming and likes to be in charge of the gantry moving walls and putting the roofs on.
Awesome team member.
Robin Riffis - Roofer
Robin is fluent in French and loves croissants. Makes sense really as he is from France.
A key team member who looks after the roofing, cladding and flashings on all our Tiny homes.
Brendan Ryan - Sales and Enquiries
Helps clients through the process of achieving their Tiny Home and when not in the office generally helps out with what ever is needed in the workshop.
